A PDA has a date book, address book, task list, memo pad, clock, calculator and computer software. Today, PDAs are widely used as notebooks, word processors, spreadsheets, and the appointment and developers to synchronize data with a PC or a computer. They can also be integrated with mobile phones to provide mobile communications and will be used to access the Internet through technologies such as Wi-Fi, Wide Area Networks (WAN) and Bluetooth.
Most PDAs are not equipped with a keyboard and pocket. Instead, the pen is based and rely on special hardware to recognize the contributions on hand to tap selections on menus and to enter printed characters. Some devices may also include an on-screen keyboard for improved accessibility.
PDA now depend largely on a series of operating systems to run. Some of the most widely used operating systems are Palm OS PDA (Palm, Inc), Windows Mobile (Microsoft), BlackBerry (Research in Motion), Symbian OS, and those based on the Linux kernel available for free, such as GPE, Opie and Qtopia.
